• 1 out of every 10 pastors will actually retire as a pastor.

Here’s the gaping hole that we can fill together

Seminary and Bible College do a great job preparing our leaders to learn, teach and preach the Word of God. But, there is a problem. Who taught pastors how to run a ministry, or how to handle conflict? Who taught them how to balance a budget, run effective meetings, and to hire and fire when necessary?

Where did they learn about growth opportunities? Who helps pastors to lead the church to take on debt in order to grow? Who gives pastors the insight needed to set up their executive team? I could go on, but I think you get my point.

Is there any doubt why our leaders feel so overwhelmed? The truth is, they haven’t been set up for success. Pastors do the best they can while “on the job,” and I believe that’s why so many suffer burnout.

A good number of years ago, I was labeled the “turnaround expert” by fellow pastors. I received that title because I led several organizations (one mega-church and two universities) from a state of near ruin, back to prosperity. Those were some of the hardest years of ministry, but God was with me. Since that time, I’ve coached several hundred ministries to fulfill their kingdom purpose.
